Weekly Report 1/21 - 1/27

Hello, hello everyone. Been a busy week here as I've been doing massive edits to that first book. I've finished editing Part 2, and have been working on Part 3; specifically making Part 3 more understandable. Also added a bit more to the first page, trying to hit that balance of interesting versus too much info.

Anyway, both comics are for the most part done for the semester, so we shouldn't have problems there. 

We've also decided to change direction with the Review show. Next one up is going to be Steven Moffat and Doctor Who.

This is one of those hauntingly beautiful songs that Javier seems rather apt at making. We're almost done with his posted work with just two more demos, and I feel like I've run out of things to say. Again, music isn't exactly my forte, but I do want to promote art, and that includes music. I just wish I could get someone who knew what they were talking about on site.

Dimensional Warriors Comic Page 52: One Year

It's been roughly one year since I started this blog, and I'll say we've gone through a lot of changes. From having daily small updates to fewer, but more diverse updates. From just me posting story stuff up, to adding two other excellent artists to the site.

Of course the important thing to do at times like this is not to reminisce, but spill the goods about what's next. So as I said this Monday, the first big change is that Professor Astonishing is moving up to a weekly schedule starting this week.

I have two other big goals I want to achieve this year. The first is simply upgrading from a Blog to an actual website. Obviously I'd still use the blog to relay information about updates, but a website will be a much better way to organize our material.

The second is getting Dimensional Warriors: Life (Book 1) published. It's a lofty goal, and I know the odds are against me, but it's better to try and fail than give up before you begin. Having said that I'm running another edit to the story, and it's looking much better; I'll probably be giving a real shot at publication at the end of this school semester.

Minor goals include getting a real start on Book 2, rebooting the review show, and figuring out how to post animated shorts to ComicFury (or rather if I can.)

Lastly I'd like to thank everyone that's been keeping up with what we've been doing here. It means a lot to all of us, so Thank You. I'm looking forward to another year.

Weekly Report 2012 - 1/20

So, finally got some work done. Which includes a few edits on the story. Mostly I added descriptions to characters and places and just generally tried to make everything more accessible; which is the main point my family's been telling me to fix. I also removed a character that was doing nothing for the story and changed some of the dialogue; and this is all in the first part!

And because I'm a lazy ass, here's the edited first part (edited again, for the... I think this is round ten? Eleven maybe? Ah well, writing is editing.)

One more week 'till this comic's been going for one year! Also the site itself should be about a year old. I'm not as sure about the blog, so I'll just say the blog is about as old as the comic.

Last weekly Non-Report

My brother left a couple days ago so I can start getting back on track with things here. I do actually have some news though.

First and possibly most importantly Professor Astonishing is moving up to a weekly schedule when the school semester starts. So no Prof. This week, but starting the week after he will be showing up every week.

In the same vein one of the upcoming Professor Astonishing stories will be "special." More on that later.

Finally I have actually been pondering on Dimensional Warriors, and taking into account what my brother pointed out. Apparently I'm terrible at description, and mostly failed to provide even the most basic descriptions of the people and the world. So that's probably something I'm going to be working on this week.

Page 50 folks, we've almost gone one full year.

Weekly non-report

Ok, so the deal is simple, my brother is here for roughly one more week, and I would rather spend time with him than pretty much anything else. Which is why there's been no updates concerning any of the written stuff. (Fan Fic, DW, etc.) That said both comics are going full steam ahead, and Prof. Astonishing may just move up to a weekly schedule by the start of next semester. Also I will continue putting up Javier's songs every other week (meaning this week.)
