Dimensional Warriors: Battle Beneath the Tower. Chapter 1

Next

This is a recap of the events I consider to be Part 2 of the story thus far. I added some new chapters in that help flesh it out.

Metudo
It didn't take long for us to clean up and get Anatos to a medical bay. We would have done the same to Antigon, but I needed her to talk; so we instead let her lay down and dry while we assembled everyone else.

Soon everyone was around the largest table in the base excepting Anatos, and Herm who was still slumped over; but she was snoring now, so that was a good sign. I looked over the newcomers. Neko, Asuka, Vyrse, Raven, Syndil, Thorium, Zephos, and Moot. Most of them Gods. We agreed to talk first. Explaining to them all we knew about Avarus and his Solarus; then Neko began talking, showing us her map. Tech didn't wait for Herm to wake up, as soon as our attention turned to her stirring body, he left with the map.

“Whahapend?” Herm was blinking rapidly and looking around. “Why am I so cold.” She was suddenly coherent and shivering.

“That's what I think most of the people here would like to know.” I said.

“Yeah, why did you lie to us all that time?” Zephos, a young man with silver hair, spoke up.

“I woulda felt less bad about beating you up all those times.” Thorium said offhandedly.

“We all thought you were dead.” Leukos pointed out, his usually carefree face a stone cold mask. Herm, now very aware of her situation was looking for escape routes.

“No one is going to hurt you.” I said calmly; being one of the few people who knew the truth ahead of time. She still was edging away, before she finally sighed.

“I... I didn't want you guys to pity me. I figured if you all saw me as Pahhur, you wouldn't treat me differently, and we could get through this mess without issue.”

“Be that as it may, you were still lying to us. Most of us knew you before, several of us were worried that you were dead. Don't you think it would be kinder to tell us, than leave us mourning?” She seemed to shrink into her chair. “I'm sure everyone here will have something to say to you, and that will be up to them. But I am going to say this, you weaken yourself when you hide the truth. I've seen you do it before, and it is a terrible habit to have. Tell people the next time something happens; from what I understand we need you to be at full strength if we're going to win this upcoming war.” With that I left her to her fate.

The fallout from Herm's lies lasted a little while, a few people decided to just not talk to her anymore. Though it was decided almost unanimously to continue calling her Pahhur. I however needed to deal with Anatos; he would be waking up soon, and I needed to make sure he didn't explode like that again.

“Wh... Where am I?” He finally sat up from the basin we had laid him in.

“It's alright. You're safe.” I said, trying to keep him calm.

“Herm. Where is he?”

“You mean Pahhur. She is currently getting chewed out by everyone who knew her.” He seemed to diffuse a bit from that.

“Oh. It's not fair is it?”

“What is?”

“I mean, he lived, and so many others died.”

“Everyone is carrying that weight bro.” I said casually. “Our mom's gone, we all shared a lot of family, that are now gone.” He bit his lip. “We're all that's left, I don't think it'd be prudent to go reducing that number anymore.”

“I... I guess not.”

“Look, it's alright, Pah was being dumb, and she deserved what you did. But she's been punished, so lets move on right?”

“Alright, we do have more important things.”

“Right, we've got a lot of families here, I'd rather not let someone else experience the same things we did. So, you wanna come down and hear the plans in action?” He seemed to be brighter suddenly, and got up.

“Sure, just let me get a drink.”

Things moved quickly from there, in a matter of days everyone had acclimated to the base, and Tech had new resources to work with. Thorium in particular could produce large quantities of metals, Pah had enough firepower to generate a forge, and Leukos could provide plenty of energy. Tech had already begun installing various computers and hardware into the mountain, and had plans for some even larger enhancements. However, more importantly was the map, the ATLAS as Tech named it.

“I know it's early.” He said proudly, as we wobbled into the room. “But I think I've located our enemies base of operations.” He tapped the table we were sitting around, and a hologram burst forward, large enough for all of us to see the map of the globe.

“Earlier, we determined that there were seven active bases, judging from Solarus movement. Six form an outer-ring around the planet's equator; meanwhile one seems to serve as the central hub at the southern pole.”

“So we destroy that place, and we win then?” Pah asked.

“Looks like it, now, I've been working on a bomb, should be able to launch it straight over to the base, nuke it from orbit.”

“No.” I said.

“What but.”

“I'm almost positive they are holding things in that base, like the wildlife of this planet, we can't risk blowing it up.”

“But I could.”

“No.” Tech sighed.

“Alright, what do you propose?”

“I think if we rally up our strength, and make a heavy push through one of the six outer bases, we could take the central base fairly rapidly.”

“I don't think so, this map doesn't do it justice, but the scale of this planet is enormous. There's no way we'd be able to trek with an Army all the way around.” Neko said.

“Food, water, and moral would deteriorate too quickly.” Jato said.

“Maybe if we just send in a small team? We should be able to provide enough food and water for that.” Pah pointed out.

“We'd get overwhelmed.” Anatos retorted. I however had an idea.

“Tech, how were you planning on getting a nuke around the planet?”

“Well, I was building a missile, and it might not have enough fuel to get there on its own, but if Zephos and Leukos rode it most of the way, the could keep it afloat more than long enough.”

“Rather than a missile, build a ship.”

“I don't... Oh...”

“You're thinking of loading up a team and flying them in?” Jato asked.

“I think we could managed it.”

“What if there are air defenses, I don't think I can control something that large well enough.” Zephos pointed out; I however did not answer first.

“How about we only fly most of the way there, that way we preserve our energy.” Lark said.

“I'll do you one better.” Vyrse started. “We send a whole team on the ship, once we get within about a hundred miles we land the thing and split up. Attack 'em from two sides, classic pincher.”

“Or we could hit them from the ground and the sky.” Odin pointed out. “If I can get close enough I could tunnel under the base.”

“The advantage we have is strength.” I said, silencing the rest. “We need to spread the Solarus out, try to keep conflicts short and small. Why don't we use the pincher technique, and add a twist. First, we'll only send the Gods. Sorry Vyrse, you guys can get taken down by one stray bullet. Tech will stay here to coordinate the strike. That leaves us with twelve. If we divide into six teams of two, we can hit them from all compass directions and the sky and underground.”

“Sounds solid enough, it would spread the Solarus out far enough, I think we can each handle a couple hundred.” Pah said.

“Okay, but design that ship with a strong front.” Zephos said. “I'm gonna just crash it in.” Tech nodded and moved off while I determined the rest of the teams.

“Odin, you and Pah are underground. Anatos, you're with Lark; you can play off each other well. I want you two to attack from the east. Jato, you and Moot can strike from the south. Neko, you go with Thorium and hit them from the west, while Asuka and I attack from the north. We will attack in two weeks. Train with your partners until then, I want all of you to be completely in tune with each other.”

Jato
The “two weeks” of training was a living hell. In fact I can't remember getting anything done, as I spent most of the time hunting down Moot.

He had always been a bit unstable before all this, but he had been raised as a noble and carried himself well. I guess with the collapse of society he no longer saw a need to pretend. I caught him up to all manner of mischief; from scaring the civilians to getting into the food supply. Worst of all he was hard to stop, his body was naturally intangible and most of the time I tried to grab him all I'd get is an armful of air and my face in the ground.

Eventually Tech got in on this with me, despite my nickname of him Moot seemed to have hit a nerve.

It started with the lights in the halls. Tech hooked up some high output lighting, it was like walking into a light bulb. Unfortunately, they broke too rapidly; and we hadn't lit the storage room the same way, so when we moved to replace them we found out Moot had already fed the replacements to Pah.

This wasn't the last time Moot relied on others to help him. At one point he got Zephos into the food storage. The ensuing flying food had most of the civilians afraid to leave their rooms.

Tech sought to control these three with a vengeful fury; and I ended up playing middleman.

Between chemicals, microchip implants, a few attempts at hypnosis, and an egregious amount of food; a solution was found. Neko, taking pity on us, had Tech synthesize a sleeping potion of sorts, which she used to spike some of the few remaining chocolate bars. This worked like a charm and put Moot into a deep sleep for a few hours. Without Moot, Pah and Zephos were easier to control since both had physical forms and could be smacked.

Anatos
I couldn't be happier with how things had turned out. We were going to fight for real, something I had been looking forward to ever since I got this new body. Being able to run, jump and play was blessing enough, but being able to fight for myself and others, that was just the icing on the cake. Add on to that the fact that I had been told to train with Lark; one of the prettiest girls in the base.

Sure we had spent a lot of time together already, since the main water tank is in the same room as her garden, but this was just more opportunities.

Although I may be counting out the other girls as Metudo managed to prove one evening.

He and Asuka were training, I was sidelined, having just practiced a few tricks with Lark for a few hours. We were trying to push how long I could fight before I dehydrated myself. Anyway, Asuka didn't like him, much like she didn't like any of us. In fact the only one she even seemed to consider worth talking to was Moot, but he was almost never around.

Still that day began the long silence between Asuka and Metudo. They had barely been training for an hour, trying to overlay their energies on top of each other. Metudo was hoping to create something solid enough to stand on. However something happened, and a surge of energy ran over Asuka.

She went into some sort of trance, and silently stripped down in front of all of us. Metudo immediately turned beet red; his mouth hanging low on his face. When she came to and realized what had happened she exploded.

I had never heard so many words come out of her mouth; nor had I ever heard them so rapidly. She even seemed to forget she was stark naked as she absorbed herself in yelling at Metudo. I only picked up a few words, like commoner, pervert and asshole. He just stood there gawking. I think he had gone into shock.

At least he was standing until she slapped him a few times and kicked his kneecaps. He didn't even get up while she turned around, shot me a nasty look, got dressed and left.

I don't think a word passed between them for a very long time.

Neko
Late in the two weeks I entered the training rooms, greeted as usual by Thorium.

“Hey Neko.”

“Hey.” I said back to Thorium as I entered the training chamber. We had been sparring the last few days, since the two of us were going to be teaming up. He had gotten very accurate with his mace, and discovered he could change the metal at the end. He had been practicing different forms lately, but seemed to be fond of throwing it in a small form, and once it impacted making it spike outwards.

On the other hand, I had been learning powers of my own. My body could shift into just about any form I could think of, or at least partially shift. I hadn't managed to obtain a fully animal body yet, usually just a very enhanced human. Though if I shifted into anything with claws, the gloves seemed to merge with those and made the natural claws longer.

Tech had said something about genetic information being necessary, but without any animal life, there was nothing I could do. Instead I focused on find a form I found comfortable and maximizing its capabilities.

So far that has been a half panther form. The black fur works well to conceal me, the senses are sharp, the extra muscles in my arms and legs allow me to move quickly and hit hard, and the tail keeps me nimble and balanced. As of yet Thorium hadn't managed to land a blow, even when he tried to shift his metal and follow me.

The sparring had started while I was thinking, today wasn't much different, he tried shifting and I dodged out of the way, tapping his shoulder as I passed. This time though, I was launched from his shoulder by a powerful force. The cloth shirt he had been wearing was torn, underneath I could see a well made shoulder pad, bulging out and slowly shifting back down.

“Ha got you!”

“When did you make armor?”

“You like it? I'm making a set for everyone. Or at least everyone who wants one.”

“I think it would just slow me down.” I said, dropping from where I had dug into the ceiling.

“Probably.” I felt my fur stand on end and turned towards the door. Metudo was standing there.

“You guys ready?” He said, smiling. “It's time to go.”

Next

Changes

Okay, so a couple of things.

1) School is eating my time.

2) I need to modify the schedule to reflect that.

3) The story itself needs to change format.

1+2 are self explanatory so let me go into detail on point three.

When I first started writing this I had an idea of following my characters in their perception of what was going on. And that worked for the first part where the two groups were separated and a lot was happening on both ends. However that isn't going to cut it from here on out. Too much is happening and everyone is too close together. I either end up skimming over something that happened to someone else, or ignoring it. You'll see the results of that soon enough.

Now I need to go over the scheduling. While it is true that school is eating my time I still have faith in my ability to post daily. Mainly because I get all the posts for the week ready over the weekend.

From here on out Tuesday-Thursday will be main story chapters, Friday will be Tech's Logs, and Saturday-Monday will be fan-fiction chapters. Akane and Shadow's individual stories are going until chapter 16, then I'm going to scratch the lot there and probably focus on Akane with occasional jumps to others.

At around noon a recap chapter will be going up which is basically the first six pages of what I consider Part 2 entitled Battle Beneath the Tower. For those interested I have 9 Parts planned for the story.

I'd like to thank everyone who has been very supportive of me so far, and I hope all of you continue to enjoy reading my work as much as I enjoy writing it.

Fan Fiction Chapter Series. Shadow Chapter 14

After a bit of a talk with Koenma I managed to get them to send Sonic and myself alone. They mainly only agreed on the fact that we could warp with the Crystals, and a larger group would begin to be unruly. The idea being we would warp in and warp out without a problem.

Seconds later we were staring over a city, our combined energy radiating out. I felt rather than saw demons scattering away from us. In our Super forms, we floated down to the crumbling streets. The sun had set on this area a while ago; the world seemed quiet, still, dead.

“Shadow.” Sonic was standing down the road a bit, pointing. Looking down the street I thought I saw a golden tan ear laying on an upturned car. Sonic was already moving, by the time I got there he was holding her body silently.

She had been shot and left. Judging from the wounds it had happened weeks ago. Looking at her I felt anger coursing through my body. Sonic hadn't moved, I placed a hand tentatively on his shoulder.

“Cream... She's...”

“I know, we'll stop this. For her too.” I said, controlling myself fairly well.

“Must be nice...” Sonic said, slowly getting up and dusting himself off. “Not feeling anything.” He was giving me a cold look.

“Now is not the time.” His piercing stare didn't wane but he lowered his fist.

“Fine. Let's find this thing and get out of here.” I nodded, staring out into the darkness. While he had been talking we had been surrounded, I could hear the low thud of Solarus footsteps in the darkness.

“Blast!” I fired a small burst of energy, the light flew into the horde of Solarus and exploded. There must have been thousands of them. Sonic seemed to have noticed too.

“Well, this is going to be fun.”

“Break to the south.” I said, he nodded. I balled up as bullets began cutting into our energy shields. The two of us launched into the crowd, scattering and demolishing them until we were clear. Then we began running, circling the area as we went.

“When one of us finds the ball, fly up!” Sonic yelled at me, breaking off. I sped forward, driving myself back into the horde.

Just stopping scattered several of them, I fired off a series of shots, clearing a small area around a broken building. With opportunity present, I entered and began searching. Every few seconds I'd collapse a piece of the roof, or blast a hole in the floor, or destroy a Solarus that got too close.

Desks, closets, rubble, I searched everywhere I could think, before busting through the wall into the next building. By the time I had hunted through five buildings, the stray bullets had eaten away at my energy I was no longer blasting with it, using what was left to maintain a shield. My golden hue was beginning to fade, a few bullets had cut through my shield and I was already sporting a few freely bleeding wounds where I had been grazed or clipped.

Finally in a pile of rubble near the center of town I found the orange orb and reached for it. As I did my arm flew away, I felt the bone break as a bullet passed clean through. Looking up the Solarus were nearly on top of me. Quickly I grabbed the orb, and drew the last of my energy before launching myself into the air.

Sonic jumped out soon afterward and we used what was left between us to warp.

Fan Fiction Chapter Series. Akane Chapter 11

This chapter contains material that I do not own, they are the property of one of the following: Akira Toriyama, Yoshihiro Togashi, Rumiko Takahashi, Tite Kubo, Masashi Kishimoto, Eiichiro Oda, and Yuji Naka. Please support these excellent artists.

It didn't take me long to figure out why I was going as a medic, I was actually running back-up to Chopper, we had a man named Urahara and a demon named Mukuro we filling “scout” duty. And we had four powerhouses: Sesshoumaru, Gohan, Kakashi, and Knuckles. We were going deep into enemy territory after what Knuckles referred to as a Chaos Emerald.

The tunnels got our party pretty close, but it wasn't long before we encountered the main army.

The gem was supposedly resting in a cave system, among some buried ruins. A few miles off we began having some skirmishes with Solarus. Our group, however, easily blew through them. Then we began running into machines and renegade demons mixed in. The bots were fairly easy to crack open, and the demons had a bit more of a range. It wasn't until we reached the cave entrance that we actually began having trouble.

Solarus were swarming all over the place, sensor bots were placed all over as well, turret guns, demons, and despite all of that a massive pressure pulsed from the cave.

“Okay, here's the plan.” Gohan said, sketching into the dirt. “Kakashi and Sesshoumaru will take out the sensors quietly, then I will destroy the turrets before we go and begin a general melee with the remainder.” Alarms began sounding near the cave; he sighed.

Urahara was already in the center of the clearing, his blade dancing in the sunlight. Nothing could get close. Gohan launched after the turrets, creating a series of explosions along the cliff face. Mukuro landed near Urahara, the two were just watching the cave entrance; their combined energy ripping apart anything that dared get too close. Finally Kakashi disabled the last alarm and silence fell over the field.

The ground shook, power surged from the cave. I had heard Metudo describe a creature made of shadow, formless and powerful. What surged out of that cave he hadn't done justice to. Darkness poured out of the cave like a faucet, crushing the surrounding cliff, and reaching up and outwards. It's shadow eventually drenching all of us in darkness.

“Akane!” I heard my name called from behind. “We'll handle this, go into the cave and get the emerald!” I nodded, not sure who had said it, and bolted for the cracked opening.

I felt rather than saw the others push away the creature's attack as it tried to follow me, then I was inside the pitch black of the cave.

Dimensional Warriors: Metudo's Story Chapter 17

Two weeks were a very short amount of time in hindsight. It felt like in no time at all we were piling onto the aircraft Tech had made for us.

“Metudo.” I turned to see him. “Take this with you.” He pressed a small bar into my hands. “It's something special. If you find their computers, plug that in, it'll give me remote access.” I held the small piece of metal tight and nodded. My mouth was too dry to talk, this was the real deal.

Neko was checking up on everyone at the start. I just felt ill. My mind was blank, I could feel my body shaking, fear, anticipation, a strange sense of lust. I could categorize the emotions in my head, but I couldn't stop them, like a bystander watching a train wreak.

“First drop point!” I heard Neko call out. That was fast. Pahhur and Odin hopped off, vanishing below tree cover. The ship turned suddenly. We must be going at a ridiculous speed. What did Tech put in this thing?

“Second drop point!” Jato and Moot.

“Third drop point!” Anatos and Lark.

“You ready Metudo?” Neko shoved me a little, I looked over at Asuka, she nodded. “Fourth drop point!”

As I fell a strange sense of wonder filled me. I wondered why I felt so weightless, I wondered what would be left of me if I did hit the ground, I wondered if Tech's makeshift parachute would work. A second later, my body jerked as the chute opened.

Here we were then, landing behind enemy lines in order to finish a war we didn't want and didn't start.

Dimensional Warriors: Neko's Story Chapter 16

Pah had a rough time of things over the next day or so. A lot of people were upset at her, myself included. As I had promised, now that we were safe and the facts had been brought up, my grudge had been resuscitated. I tried to not be so hard on her, the others were doing a good job of holding the cold shoulder, but Zephos had decided to forgive and forget fairly easily. Moot also talked to her, though half the time he was trying to scare her out of her skin.

Then again in the last two days Moot had quickly become a nuisance to everyone. Particularly to a young man named Tech. He seemed to have taken it upon himself to bring Moot under control.

A few days in a solution was born from some of Lark's plants. Moot had always been partial to chocolate, and even in his new form he seemed affected by a certain mixture that induced sleep. I was left in the care of these bars, and would throw one to Moot when he started getting out of hand. It would keep him quiet for a couple hours.

Thorium was a different problem all together, he rapidly got bored of gold and moved on to trying to make radioactive materials. It took me explaining to him why it was a bad idea before he even began to consider stopping.

All of this was occurring while Metudo and I were trying to put together a solid plan.

Finally after a morning of debating, we finally formed a plan. We were to attack from six directions, each compass direction, the sky, and underground. We had been broken into teams of two, leaving behind Vyrse, Raven, and Tech.

“Hey Neko.”

“Hey.” I said back to Thorium as I entered the training chamber. We had been sparring the last few days, since the two of us were going to be teaming up. He had gotten very accurate with his mace, and discovered he could change the metal at the end. Fan Fiction Chapter Series. Shadow Chapter 13

I woke up on a hospital bed, the man I had seen earlier was on the cot next to me.

“Don't move.” I heard one of the nurses say. “You haven't recovered completely.” I laid back down.

“How long have I been out?”

“A little over twelve hours.” That quickly? I knew I healed quickly, but that was a little insane. The nurse must have noticed my surprised look.

“It's Orihime, she's got amazing healing capabilities. She is the best healer we have, he also was treated by her. We had to sedate him though while we set up some new locks on the kitchen.” I sat up again, I ached a little, but nothing a little running wouldn't fix.

“Don't forget to report in, they want to know when you're ready to go out again!” I heard the nurse yell after me.

I found a quiet place to sit and think in the Mobian district. There were children playing in the street below. It was an odd feeling, the world outside was in such turmoil, and even under constant threat, here the people still acted like there was peace. They even had started fighting amongst each other.

I guess that was our doing. We allowed everyone here to live peacefully, and the worst of it was we enjoyed doing it. I felt alive when I fought, I guess it was what I was built to do, but the others; they were like me, just born rather than made.

I pulled myself out of my head and went to Sally to let her know I was up again.

“Hey Shadow!” I heard Sonic coming up behind me. “Yer up!”

“Yes.”

“I didn't think anything could give you that kind of smack down.” He was in front of me now.

“I wasn't in Super form, it managed to keep me from doing so.” He seemed to think for a moment.

“Still, so you know, they're starting to send out parties after the crystals. They're only sending the best though, the last team just got back.”

“Interesting.”

“Yeah, it was a success, but some of them didn't make it.” I raised my eyes a little, it had been tough so far, but I hadn't heard of casualties yet. He looked away and then back. “Be careful out there, the next team is doubling up in size. You're running with me.”

“What?”

“We've got two crystals now, we'll each have one.” I didn't exactly like the idea of working with him, but if there were casualties among the strongest... My mind wandered to the thing that had attacked me. The man in the hospital, Goku. He was measurably the strongest fighter here. He won, but wound up in the hospital.

“Alright, but we're going to activate them as soon as we get out the gates.” I said, heading for the tunnels.

Fan Fiction Chapter Series. Akane Chapter 10

“Ranma!” He was hiding here somewhere. I looked around the empty storage room, he had apparently run into the girl's bath, again. I don't really care what his excuse was, he still needed to be punished. Then I spotted him crawling along the ceiling, trying to hide. “What are you?” I yelled, throwing the broom I had grabbed while chasing him. He fell, and I grabbed him by his hair.

“Ow hey! Akane!”

“Now, come on. There's a group heading out, and unless you want me to hurt you you're going with it.” I said, dragging him along. As far as I was concerned he was punished, but the other girls, some of them were a lot stronger and a lot nastier. I felt him sigh and allow himself to be dragged.

To be frank I hadn't been surprised the first time he had crashed in on the bath. It wasn't uncommon before for him to come barging in, or falling through the roof, or popping out of the floor. Sometimes he was obviously chasing or fighting someone. Actually it was most of the time. Still my reaction was to pound him and leave him.

Unfortunately, he barged in this time and was met by an array of energy blasts. The women put him in the hospital. Now I was supposedly his 'caretaker' to keep that from happening. I looked down at him, a long red streak ran across his face where the broom had hit him. He was pouting.

“So who were you chasing this time?”

“The old freak.”

“Uh-huh. And where was he?”

“He kicked me through those doors. He's probably in a pot or barrel somewhere.” I thought for a moment, and wondered if Happosai knew the level of danger he was in. He hadn't been caught yet, unlike the monk, or the cook. But I knew sooner or later he'd slip up. Ranma suddenly got up.

“Hey Akane, I heard we got these stone things that generate a lot of power recently.” I had heard something similar.

“What about them?”

“Apparently they're building something to locate the rest, sounds like they're going after 'em.”

“Okay.” He turned to me.

“I know you've been going out.” His face was so serious. “Be careful.” We had arrived at the delegation room, where people were sent out.

“Ah Ranma, recovered from your accident already?” I looked in, the board consisted of three people, an elderly man sat on the right, his long white beard melding with his white overcoat. He was Yamamoto, apparently leader of the Shinigami. On the left was a beautiful woman with long blond hair. At the center of her forehead was a small green mark. She was Tsunade, leader of a shinobi village. At the center was a young man, holding a pacifier in his mouth. He wore deep blue robes, and normally looked like a small child. This was Koenma. Tsunade had been the one to ask. I gave a disbelieving stare, since she was the one that had busted all his ribs when he crashed into the baths.

“Yeah, I jump back fast.”

“Good, we need you to run with the next group. We're low on scouts.” Yamamoto said calmly.

“And Akane's here too. We actually could use you, can you do basic first aid?” Koenma was giving me a stern look. I nodded slowly, I had patched up Ranma often enough and a lot of his wounds tended to be bad. “Excellent, we're sending your team fairly far and we're shot on medics.” No surprise there, very few people here had magical healing, or even regular healing capabilities. Even fewer were fit for the field. In fact I was pretty sure there were only three; Orihime, Sakura, and Chopper.

“You'll need this.” Tsunade said, handing me a kit. “And you better hold onto this.” She handed me a small device, it had a green radar screen on it and was beeping slowly. “The rest of your team will fill you in. Good luck.”

“Remember, you're going as the medic, try not to get into the fighting.” Yamamoto said. I nodded and went to tunnel five as instructed.

Dimensional Warriors: Tech's Journal Entry 5

Planet: Earth composite.
Day: 9 days since planet was created.

With a new working lab and a healthy resource of subject both of the godly and human varieties, I've been busily confirming a few theories that I postulated on earlier. Most notably I located the same piece of the brain I earlier mentioned in my third log. It has been present to some degree in all of the residents of the base.

In most it is shriveled, and initial studies showed they could barely shift 10 electrons with any thought. Though with a little study I did find that this piece works on its own, pushing matter away from the skin naturally, acting like a form of barrier. It isn't by any means strong and even a light breeze would push matter past it, but it was an interesting point of comparison.

Metudo's body generates a similar barrier, once again completely naturally, yet on his scale I can see that it is semi-permeable, allowing matter and supplies like food, air, moisture, through. On the reverse, it is far more durable, and indeed more sentient than that found on a normal person.

After some study I noticed that the electrons that respond to him are different than those that respond to Leukos. When both gather their strength a different imprint is created. At larger levels the electrons vibrate against each other giving off light. In Metudo's case this takes on a violet hue, while Leukos generates a bright yellow color.

Jato was more interesting, via the imprints I have gotten from him I was able to break down the varied imprints inside his and judge that there are 24 separate imprints within his. I hesitate to say that there are only these 24 variations, but so far my studies have not turned up any proof otherwise. Instead I will attempt to classify the variations by the hue they give off. Of course using Jato as a base, I managed to diverge the hues like sending light through a prism; and therefore studied them and the correlating places the signature can be found.

Violet: Energy relating to the mind.
Yellow: Electrical energies, or pure electrons.
White: Combination of all.
Brown: Mineral energies.
Red: Heat energies.
Green: Animal life energy.
Blue: Energy generated by liquids.
Grey: Energy generated by gases.

Aqua: Whole energy, or the base color that occurs when a normal person draws surrounding energies.
Cream: Energy given off by the part of the brain that handles memory.
Cinereous: Energy generated by a piece of the brain dealing with logic.
Coffee: Energy generated by a piece of the brain dealing with logic. (Currently no known distinction other than color.)
Orange: Generated from the piece of the mind dealing with curiosity and creation.
Citrine: Present in the air, no data as to what it does.
Crimson: Present in the air, no data as to what it does.
Bole: Given off by living things that no longer live.
Aquamarine: Present in human DNA; presumed to be attached to Telomere portion.
Blush: Attached to a piece of the brain dealing in emotions.
Rose: Attached to a piece of the brain dealing in emotions. (No known distinctions)
Almond: Given off by living creatures.

From here on out I closing this journal, it would be far more organized to start a log of data.

Dimensional Warriors: Metudo's Story Chapter 16

Art of Ted Selden

From the series, Loose Connections.
Pencil on paper.
This is the first in what was originally intended to be part of a larger series that stopped at two items. My aim was to experiment with simple shapes and compositions that could be made quickly one after another. The individual is seen here looking into the rising or setting sun: but, he sees something beyond the comprehension of his contemporaries. The next set of pictures would depict planets, cosmic bodies, and abstracted shapes, that would represent the set of realities the person can see. Only one other was made. That will be here in two weeks.

Fan Fiction Bonus! Goku vs. General Sai!

I had been making a point of avoiding the main base lately. I could sense the person who had gotten into power there and didn't agree with his methods. Instead I just helped move survivors into the path of the scouting groups from afar. I was mostly interested in destroying as many of those armored things as possible. Which is why this one surprised me.

I had been watching the scout group from a safe distance, they had been having a little trouble, but nothing I hadn't seen them handle before. Then out of the blue a new power source appeared. I floated up to get a look, and saw one of the Armors, only sleeker, devastating the team. One of them was going to be killed if I didn't do something.

So I did. I landed myself in-between it and the prone form it had been beating on. Its glowing eyes shifted to focus on me. It was intelligent, something that couldn't be said for any of the other Armors I had destroyed.

“A new toy? You look stronger than the rest.” I could tell this thing was holding in an unfathomable depth of power. I couldn't help smiling.

“I advise you to leave. You're more intelligent than the others, so I'm giving you one chance. Take your army and go.” I knew he would say no, but it was only right. It seemed to laugh.

“Oh a funny guy! Step out of my way.” In a nanosecond it had covered the gap between us and tried to kick me. Fortunately, I was faster. Still my arm strained against the force of the blow. It's eyes lit up and it floated away from me. I took the chance to look behind me, I could sense Krillen nearby, so I picked up the prone form behind me and tossed it out.

“Krillen! Catch! Get him some help!” I heard Krillen grunt as he caught the body.

“Goku! Be careful!” He yelled back, before flying away. One of the others went after him.

“Son Goku? Well it must be my lucky day.” It said, a hologram coming up. “One of the strongest men caught in our trap. If not the strongest.” The hologram flickered off, and it rose to full height. “Today little man, you face General Sai, 51st General of Master Avarus' Army. Remember it, for it will be the last thing you hear.” As soon as he finished I felt a blow several times stronger than the last collide with my gut. I hadn't seen that one coming at all. I caught myself, and quickly unleashed my maximum.

Power flooded my systems, my energy went from a light blue to a bright golden, my hair matching the color of my energy and growing out to my ankles. The form commonly known as Super Saiyan stage 3.

The burst of energy knocked him back, and I took the advantage. He seemed to go up a notch, and matched my attack. Very quickly the earth around us was shaking apart due to the blow back of our energy. Still I wasn't pushing him back, instead he was still toying with me.

Things went bad fast, in a lucky break I felt both my kneecaps shatter, there were neat holes in my legs, and blood was seeping out slowly. My distraction led to a new hole in my right shoulder. Blood caught in my throat and I struggled to release it.

“I must say, you were fun. I nearly broke a sweat.” With another kick I was on the ground. I heard someone running up to me.

“Don't!” I called out too late, I felt her push something into my hand.

Power, too much power, so much power. It filled my head, it filled my body, it filled my veins, my bones, and suddenly I was growing. Larger, furrier, my head was going blank. My vision was turning red. I felt massive, blindly I swung my arms around, feeling buildings, trees, and earth crumble at my touch. There was pain too, pain everywhere. When I breathed it hurt. I screamed out, letting energy pour from my body like a flood. As I flailed I noticed something.

Something caught my eye in the sea of red, a shadow. A figure. It was a girl. Why was she so close? I could only see her shadow, her outline, she seemed to be shaking. My vision expanded. I saw my hands, so close to her, each one large enough to crush her like an ant. I got up. Regaining control over my body, I saw my hands, I looked like a monster. I shouldn't look like this. Human. I thought. I should look human. Why don't I?

No sooner had my mind solidified this thought then I felt myself shrinking. My energy changed from a bright yellow to a deep red, I felt fur coating my body, an extension of my spine behind me, and most importantly power. I felt something almost embedded in my hand. A yellow crystal sat there, three green star floating in the middle. I realized I had no time for any of this, the enemy was upon me.

“You continue to impress. Let us see if you can keep this up.” It was moving so slow, I grabbed it, and punched two holes in the arm I had gotten a hold of before it tore itself away. What I guessed was shock played on its face.

“I see your form isn't for show, and your reputation isn't under false pretense.” Again the earth ached beneath us to accommodate the enormous release of power. It was faster again, but not that blinding speed it had before, I could tell it was using everything it had now.I felt gashes open up along my arms, but I also felt my hands tear through metal as I went.

I saw a chance, and grabbed its arm, summoning all my strength and tearing it right off. Too late I noticed it had used the opening to stab me with its other arm. I felt blood flowing freely across me chest. I held my breath, waiting for a heart beat. A low thump, like a wounded beast, then another. My heart was damaged, not destroyed.

It looked at the socket where its arm used to be, swivelling the hollow metal a bit, before approaching me. My energy had suddenly inverted itself, trying desperately to heal the wound. I quickly re-routed it. I was going to have to end this fight here; even if it meant bleeding out.

"Kame..."

"Quaint, praying before your death." I breathed heavily, summoning the next word for my call.

"Hame..." I could feel energy redirecting, and pouring into my clasped hands. I breathed deep, drawing in as much as I could before the final blast. It seemed to notice and moved to stop me. Too late.

"HA!" With a final surge of power I enveloped the General with everything I had, it stood, trying to resist. Pieces of metal flaking off as it moved to overpower me.

As the last of my strength passed through it, it stepped forward, steaming, a husk of its former self. I reached for me, its arm crumbling as it did. I saw it fall in a heap in front of me, second before I fell into darkness after it.

Dimensional Warriors: Neko's Story Chapter 15

Pahhur engaged her youngest cousin, blocking him from stopping me as I went onwards. I had resolved that whoever was in charge, I was going to take down. Before this mess had begun I had learned to fight, both in hand to hand and in bladed combat. Now I had a weapon, and I had power. Now it was my turn to shine. I was going to give these people the show of their lives.

I was halted when I realized who was in charge. Pahhur's oldest cousin, Metudo began walking down towards me.

“Neko.” Now I was pissed. I expected some jerk who didn't know how to lead, but I had met Metudo. He was smarter than this. I tried to keep myself calm as I spoke to him.

“Metudo, I'm glad to see you're alive. Now call off your goons.” My voice was steady, but my intent was there.

“Where is Herm?” I was thrown by this, he couldn't know could he?”

“Dead.” I replied, trying to keep him off balance.

“Let me rephrase, why is Herm still in the other room?” Well, that plan was dead in the water. Time to be honest.

“Anatos stopped us. She told me to keep moving. We need to unite Metudo. No good will come from us fighting each other.” He lifted a cane like a blade. At that point I knew exactly what had happened. He was a God, and he had some sort of mental powers.

“I agree, however, the people need to see this. They need to see our power.” I knew that was coming as soon as I said anything, but I wanted to have the moral high ground. I moved to prepare myself.

“So I guess we might as well do this then.”

“Let's say first pin wins.” He said, I couldn't help smiling.

“I just got these, so I can't make many promises.” I said, then launched myself at him before he could react. I felt my blade collide with the cane, but there was something else there, like it was encased in something invisible. He swung out to break the lock; but he seemed distracted. I closed the distance, feeling power surge through my body, an odd feeling broke out across my skin. I ignored it and charged again; he seemed to dodge my strike, but went tumbling after me anyway.

I turned around and saw a long strand of fur wrapping around his neck, I saw myself as its source, and took the opportunity to hold the blade of my weapon over his face. He just smiled at me.

“I give.”

“I am Antigon Herm!” I heard Pahhur's voice fill the room, my ears were ringing from the sound and I backed away from Metudo; focusing on blocking the sound.

“Impossible.” I heard Anatos' voice coming over the speaker.

“I almost died.” Her voice sounded pained. “When he gave me these gifts, he gave me a new body. This one.”

“Why should I care?” Anatos' voice had taken on a cold tone. “Why are you still alive? Why not my mother? Why not our grandmother? Why you? You never cared, you always passed me off never wanted to hang with me. No one did. I was the sick kid, the oddball. Don't think it didn't hurt the way you looked at me. The way I could never keep up. The fact that I could never be normal, ever again. Not even now. Now I have to be hydrated, constantly. I'm a freak of a different kind, and you. You don't even care do you?”

I saw Metudo heading towards the room, but the moment he opened the door a wave of water crashed into the room. Anatos was standing in the room, his eyes glazed over, he took two steps forward before falling over.

Regaining my senses I ran over to Pah's soaked form and pulled her out of the water. I had her stripped in seconds, someone came in and began helping me towel her off. She suddenly coughed up some water, and began breathing. I instinctively tore a piece of my pants off and placed it near her mouth. She slowly began chewing on it, before dragging it in and swallowing.

I breathed a sigh of relief, realizing that was the strangest resuscitation I think I would ever preform.

Fan Fiction Chapter Series. Shadow Chapter 12

I found that despite the high density of people, there were still plenty of quite places where no one went. One of those was a dead end tunnel, which led to a portion of wall that had been sealed with a thick layer of diamond. Even though it was a foggy view, it was still something.

Sally wasted no time in putting me into rotation. I was grateful for that, it was hard to be cramped with almost nothing to do. I had tried to work in the labs, but I soon found out that one woman, Bulma, worked down there and moonlighted to the med bay when they were short on staff. She seemed to be okay with Tails and Rotor working down there, but apparently didn't trust me.

Then again I found out the man I saved was a bit of a prick as well. He didn't even wait to fully recover before taking over a training chamber, and literally beating anyone stupid enough to challenge him. Even wounded there were only very few who managed to fight evenly with him. Apparently someone named Goku could beat him on a regular basis, but no one had seen him for over a week.

Which was interesting when he showed up during one of my scouting missions.

We were supposed to be gathering supplies, food, clothing, metals, all the while looking out for any remaining survivors; despite the fact that Metudo had pretty much confirmed that ninety-eight percent of the remaining population was now inside the base.

Regardless things were moving smoothly when I felt a ripple run through the earth.

“D-Does anyone else feel that?” One of my companions, Krillen, said cautiously. The other two, a girl named Orihime who could heal, and a bulky man named Choji looked around carefully. Some of the people in the base could sense creatures with high energy readings. Which sounds more helpful than it is. Solarus have so little energy they can't really be tracked. However now Krillen was looking around frantically; even I could feel something, like an invisible pressure hanging over my head.

I looked to Orihime.

“Had me the Chaos Crystal.” I held out my hand, after the initial studies, it was decided the scouting group would take what had been dubbed the Chaos Crystal with them on their missions. It had already saved a few groups, now it was going to save ours.

As she held it out, it vanished. I heard it chink against the ground a few feet away. At the same time a familiar figure loomed into view. The creature I had seen at the base, the one that had chased me.

“Lucky day.” It said, standing between me and Orihime. “I had hoped I would get a chance to finish off the one that got away.” It looked over at the fallen Crystal. “And this time you won't have your magic toy.” Pain shot through my skull as my feet left the ground. I hadn't even seen it move.

I hit the ground rolling, and turned that into an advantage. Rather than slow down I balled up to increase my speed. While I made a wide loop I tried to pin point my target, but I couldn't feel its presence; until my arm felt like it shattered.

My spin stopped and I could see I had been punted into the air, where I had just been the creature stood, watching my arc. Gravity finally took control, and I felt my spine shudder against something, before being dropped to the ground. I felt blood in my mouth, but ignored it as I pushed against the ground, my body screaming. A sudden pressure on my back forced me back into the dirt.

“Not as fun as I had hoped. I guess you're really nothing without your toys.” I could feel the cold steel grinding into me. The last thing I remembered was the pressure leaving my back and a tall man standing against this creature.

Fan Fiction Chapter Series. Akane Chapter 9

Metudo a tall and imposing man. He arrived one week after we had begun holding out at this base. With him was a group of powerful people. Odin quickly folded power over to him, and he rapidly changed the way we did things.

Over the next few weeks, we switched from using the entrances at the base of the mountain to using tunnels Odin had constructed that reached far out into the surroundings. We had food suddenly, a garden in doors. Even though we quickly got tired of fruits and vegetables, it was better than starving. We had power as well, earlier one of the women that had woken up, Bulma, had figured out a way to hook up a series of lights so that the lower tunnels weren't luminescent at best. Now we had a more stable power source, and a new guy, Tech, who quickly replaced the old lights with something more powerful; giving the whole base a kind of sci-fi feel.

I couldn't help but feel something was wrong. Metudo managed to get everything working well so quickly; it felt like we went from barely surviving to having a chance. Then I was picked to go out on the field.

Ranma raised a fuss, but unfortunately he had gotten hit in the side pretty deep earlier. I was more than happy to go, my energy still needed work, but my physical strength had rapidly earned me a top spot in most training groups. The group structures were fairly typical, a powerhouse, a healer, a scout, and a face man. All of which had some way of fighting back. In my case I was going to be working with a girl who was close to my own age named Sakura. She had short pink hair, but from what I had seen she was probably stronger than I was. She would be our healer; Ichigo was our face man, and Yamcha was our scout.

To make things quick, and keep us safe, Yamcha offered to fly me up, so far we had only heard of a few encounters with anti-air forces. So far those of us who could fly always took priority as scouts.

It was exhilarating, feeling the wind whip across my face as we sped high above the ground. Ichigo and Sakura were keeping an easy pace below us. Ranma had mentioned seeing a city last time he was out, and we were heading out to go find it.

It wasn't long before we spotted what Metudo called Solarus, those empty armored creatures that had chased me. Their numbers were sizable, but they had been growing since we had been making these attacks. Ichigo closed distance first. There was a shockwave and I could see bits of metal flying everywhere. They had trained their guns on him, but none of their shots landed. Then Sakura came in, slamming into the ground, the surrounding earth shattered; sending everything on it flying. Yamcha shifted me fully onto his back and began spraying a volley of blasts into the enemy mass.

From what I had heard this wasn't uncommon. The Solarus had virtually no reflexes, move incredibly slowly when compared to most of our fighters, and relied solely on their guns. Once we had figured that out, we effectively made them a non-issue. It was still impressive to see in action, it seemed none of the creatures could handle us. As I thought this I suddenly felt a sharp pain across my arm. I was falling.

Looking up I saw a large winged creature barrel into Yamcha, the both of them landing not far away. I started to get up, and heard the sick sound of a bullet piercing flesh. Ichigo was standing over me, blood running down his head. He looked back at me, flicking the stunted bullet off his forehead. It had left a deep dent, and the wound was bleeding freely, but Ichigo didn't seem to care. At the same time I saw the same creature preparing to attack from Ichigo's blind spot.

I got up, using all the energy and anger I could muster. It had already begun barreling towards us, and couldn't change its course. I felt time slow down as it approached, I swung my fist, aiming for it's deformed head. I felt my hand hit flesh, then bone, then air. The remains of the creature flew backwards faster than it had charged at us. Where it's head had been was a burnt mass. I realized my hand felt hot to the touch.

Not wasting a chance I drew on that same emotion, and took aim at a Solarus that was sneaking out of the nearby underbrush. Fire leapt from my hand, hitting the thing square in the chest. It fell backwards and shattered. I was elated, but I suppressed that emotion and charged in. Within minutes I was dishing out as much damage as Sakura had been. My body seemed to be charged with an unlimited source of power. Once I had closed in to the remaining Solarus, my martial arts provided more than enough fighting strength to punch, grab, tear, and throw them around. The creatures were slow, even to me; and even at a range I managed to successfully recreate the fireball I had thrown earlier a few times.

By the time Sakura had cleaned up Ichigo and Yamcha I was done with the leftovers; and feeling very proud. We did eventually find the town Ranma had mentioned, and there was some food there.
