Dimensional Warriors: Tech's Journal Entry 2

Next

Planet: Earth composite.
Day: 4 days since planet was created.

I met my first research subject today, Leukos. A bit of an excitable person, but an excellent test subject and an even better power source. Initially I took advantage of his seemingly magical ability to produce electricity so that I could run my machines. I even used the spare battery parts in the lab to construct something he could charge, just by putting it in his mouth.

This of course gave me a chance to use my own powers. The only physical gift given to me was my new arm, and with it I managed to make a small collection of nanobots. Just for the purpose of data collection.

Of course the first set I put into Leukos instantly shorted out, so I instead made some out of rubber and some trace minerals; the idea being the charge inside Leukos was so great it would even force non-conductors to work. I was right of course. Within a few hours I was getting readings.

The first thing I noticed was that his body did not act like a solid. Every cell was active, almost like a gas held together by an invisible force. His skin, in fact, was only loosely solid. There were comparatively large gaps in the connecting atoms, and the compounds were vibrating constantly. On close inspection, the vibrations are noticeable to the naked eye. The excess energy generates a low light source, and his form seems inconstant. Like he is behind a veil of some sort.

I theorize that with a little focus he could break himself into a pure rush of energy, allowing him to travel as fast as any surrounding conductors allow him, pending of course on electrical fields. When I explained this to him, he didn't seem to understand at all, and wandered off. So I called him a tosser and went on with my work.

Speaking of electrical fields, there seems to be a thick one surrounding him, it was likely this that shorted my first nanobots, and probably would have done the same to me if I hadn't been wearing rubber. Yet it seems either he controls the field, or more likely, the field itself has some strange sentience. I must look into this further, but I don't have the resources as of now.

Instead I will work on using my remaining materials to create a comfortable sleep mask. I can only assume the low light Leukos produces will be irritating when it is lights out tonight, and without wanting to tear my clothing my resources are limited to some left over rubber, the surrounding rock, and a pin I found wedged in a socket of my arm, presumably to do detail work, which helped in making the nanobots.

Story Bonus! Vyrse and Raven, Travelling Across Time Part 2

Next

"And so the fool comes." Raven said to himself. He sat at the top of the tower, looking out at the oncoming warrior. His rounded and seemingly joyous face suddenly a mask of cool calculations. Balanced on his shoulder was a blade, roughly as long as he was, and with a width thicker than a tree trunk. Ancient words were scribed across the steel of the blade; they pulsed with an eerie blue light. His blond hair, combed back, seemed to float slightly in the light of his sword. His soft brown eyes watched his approaching foe, carefully. Finally his muscled form moved to a dark corner of the room, assisted by a black robe, which also served to conceal the black armor on his body.
As Vyrse landed, he paused. His hands instinctively flew to his guns, lifting them in time to block a sword aimed at his head. The single rune on the back of the guns set off a deep red glow as the blue light shimmered.
“So you did come, foul warrior.”
“Not bad for a bodyguard.” Vyrse said, seconds before kicking off the blade. He flipped, touched down on the wall, and took his aim. The room was suddenly consumed by noise as the hammer fell once, twice, and a third time. When the ringing noise ceased the opposing warrior wore a smug grin on his face at the shocked expression on Vyrse’s face. The bullets lay useless on the floor, the warrior had used his sword to deflect the shots, yet the sword had not a dent in it. Vyrse, eyes trained for speed, had barely seen him move.

“What are you?”
“A warrior, like yourself. Now, taste my blade!” Vyrse placed one gun in the path of the massive blade and grinned at his foe as he brought the second one up to fire. The swordsman tilted his blade and sent the shot ricocheting into the wall.
“I must say I’m impressed.” Vyrse commented. “I didn’t think a person here could oppose me.”
“We know of your demon weapons, I have trained all my life to destroy you. Now die Vyrse! Die by the hand and blade of Raven the Gunslayer!” Vyrse ducked down to avoid the blade. A second later he locked the sword again, using both his guns.
“Interesting. You have called me foul, and my weapons demons. Yet it is your employer that is the foul one.”
“Liar! The king is fair, and grants the people many things from the other world! The towns are prosperous, and the citizens are happy!” The blanket of fury over Vyrse's face seemed to crack into a smile for a second before returning. He slowly holstered his guns. Raven swung his blade to sever his opponent’s neck, yet Vyrse grabbed and stopped it.
“Very well Raven, I give your opinion a chance. We will go to the nearest village and should one person cry against the king, I will kill both he and you.”
“If not?” Raven said, slowly sheathing his blade.

“We shall see.”

Dimensional Warriors: Metudo's Story Chapter 13

After my big talk with Odin I warned Tech and moved on to work on the external shields. I recalled how I had formed the walls in our earlier fight, this time I just focused on making them larger, more complicated, then separating themselves from my mind so that they would continue to exist without my constant attention.

Over the next few weeks I began holding meetings, explaining to the colonists how important it was to improve our defenses. Thankfully everyone took well to it. Odin seemed a little irritated, but that was more from all the extra work he had been doing. Unfortunately the breakdown of our energies was such that he was our most useful tool right now. With very little help and effort he could construct heavily reinforced rooms out of just living stone; as well as control the toughness of the exterior, and create new paths and tunnels in a matter of hours.

The others saw some work as well, Leukos was eventually called in to be a main energy source, so we could have more constant lighting; something he was initially okay with, but eventually began to annoy him. Though I can't imagine having one end of a copper wire tied around one's arm is too comfortable.

Anatos was kept busy providing and cleaning the water, a task that kept him inside a tank almost all day. Which he was fine with, since it allowed him to hang around Lark in the garden. At first look she was not doing much of anything, but I highly suspected the rate of production would drop if she ever stopped looking after he plants.

Jato focused primarily on the trips outside of the base, he was one of our best fighters, and proved it on several occasions. Often he would return from a trip with injured people on his back. Those days we would have to shift the tunnels. He worked probably harder than any of us, and it showed. On the rare occasions we did any form of sparring or training he was always miles ahead.

Not to say the rest of us weren't capable; we all far exceeded normal human capabilities, but none of us managed to pin him once. He just wouldn't stay put.

As the weeks stretched on, I felt the numbers outside dwindle down to a handful; we had this one kid, Marcus, who was good with computers. He had managed to keep a hold of a laptop, and was using it to keep a census. We were at a little over fifty thousand; it was the best we could manage. Then I felt something, something much stronger than usual outside. I sent Jato out to check up, but I had already felt her presence.

I was curious how they would handle my little test; curious to see if they could really turn the tides.

Fan Fiction Bonus! Vegeta vs. General Sai!

This chapter contains material that I do not own, they are the property of one of the following: Akira Toriyama, Yoshihiro Togashi, Rumiko Takahashi, Tite Kubo, Masashi Kishimoto, Eiichiro Oda, and Yuji Naka. Please support these excellent artists.

I couldn't help feeling more at home here. Before that strange light things were dull. It was rare that something would go wrong, and when it did it was always ridiculously powerful and always ended with me, Prince of the Saiyans, beaten and insulted.

Since the light, the whole planet has been in chaos, with tons of opponents to pick at. They aren't exactly worthy, but it's far better than wasting away in the gravity chamber back home. Still, even these things are starting to get boring. Which is why I've been looking for the source. Usually something strong is waiting there.

And man did I find my fight.

The base was a strange place, a temperate zone in what was otherwise a frozen wasteland. Perhaps they thought the ice and snow would stop intruders. Regardless, the base itself looked more like a city, and if I knew anything about cities it was that people always show up if you blow up one of the buildings.

I was right, of course, the armored creatures poured out of the barracks towards me. Making them easy prey. Even some other odd creatures came flying out to give their luck a shot, they were even easier to finish off. In total it was turning out to be a pretty good day, I had chopped off a good hundred thousand at least; then it showed up. It looked much like the other armored creatures, but it was thinned down in a lot of places, it was seamless, sleek, it's eyes shimmered with a red light. But most importantly it was surrounded with energy. This was a strong foe.

I landed on a rooftop, the other creatures had stopped attacking and were now just watching. The creature flew over to meet me.

“State your name and business.” It said coldly. I just smirked.

“Prince Vegeta, last of the Saiyan race. Remember it well, since it's the name of the man that is going to kill you.” Its eyes seemed to shine brighter.

“Interesting. I will grant you the honor of my name. General Sai, 51st General of Master Avarus' Army.”

“I don't care, I'm not used to your kind talking in the first place, let's just get this over with.” I crouched preparing myself. It folded its arms, and an instant later was in front of me. With a second motion it backhanded me across the rooftop. I skidded myself to a stop and glared back at the thing. “Tougher than the rest, lets see how you like this.” I reached deep into myself, grabbing my rage and pulling it out like armor. My body lit up, I felt the familiar sense of overflowing power running through my veins. The air around me became golden just by my very existence. My hair shimmered and changed color to a light blonde, then again to a deeper yellow. The height of my power.

Now I stood and watched my opponent carefully. The light hadn't faded from its eyes at all, in fact it was even more intense now. I saw it move in towards me and reacted, blocking it's attacks as quickly as it could launch them.

The two of us continued like that for a while, however I soon realized that it had an inexhaustible body, while mine could only take so much before it gave out. I had yet to have landed a hit, and instead had taken a couple of glancing blows. I had to turn the tide somehow, so I broke the lock and put a decent amount of distance between us.

I focused and pure energy began firing from my hands, a familiar attack, and simple; but if the creature had no way to block or retaliate, the battle would be mine.

I couldn't help grimacing as it batted my attacks away with ease. I had hoped this wouldn't be that simple, so I readied my next strike.

“Final Burst Cannon!” I charged the blast with more than enough power to destroy a normal sized planet, and fired it. The creature didn't even try to dodge, but I hadn't expected it to. It's it was half as strong as I sensed it was, the attack wouldn't do much more than create a smoke screen, but that's what I was planning on.

“Final Impact!” This time far more power, but it was also pressed into a point, in order to pierce. I hadn't used this attack in a long time, but now was as good a time as any. I heard it land and waited for the dust to settle.

As it did, the creature still stood there, a clean hole in its gut. But it didn't seemed fazed at all.

“Anything else you would like to try? Or can I finish this up?” Now it has gone too far. I hadn't really wanted to use this technique since it would require most of my energy, and I would probably still need to finish off small fries and get back to safety, but if this thing was just going to laugh off my attacks then it needed to be taught a lesson.

“Final Flash!” Drawing all of my energy to one point, I kicked off with a little of my excess energy, stopping myself point blank. I unleashed the blast. Which went outwards leveling half the city in its wake. I grinned. “Nothing but ashes.” I felt something enter my backside as I spoke. A hand was reaching out of my chest, the same metal as that bastard. The hand left the way it came in, I felt my consciousness begin to fade, blood was now seeping out of my two wounds. I grabbed hold of my mind, and focused, my transformation was fading, but I still had some energy left.

I tried to fly away as fast as I could, get out of there, get stronger, come back. My usual plan. It appeared above me, kicking me into the dirt outside the city limits. I looked up and saw someone standing there. They had golden hair, standing on end.

“Super... Saiyan?” I asked, but even as I did I began to see it wasn't human. “No... What are you?”

“Still alive?” I heard the armored creature behind me. “I guess you weren't an absolute waste of flesh then. Shame, I would have rather liked to see what kind of General you would make. But I guess all that is left is to kill you.”

I felt the golden person pick me up.

“We have to get out of here.” I said, desperately clinging onto hope. “He's strong. Too strong.”

“Right. Hold on.” We were moving, amazingly quickly as he said that. “Chaos Control!” I heard him call a move, and suddenly felt myself moving at an amazing rate.

Dimensional Warriors: Neko's Story Chapter 12

“How in the name of the Goddess do you people live?” I sighed. Asuka was yelling at some of her torn clothing. I figured she'd get over it sooner or later.

“Well, we have a lot of clothes in here.” Pah pointed out, starting to drag some clothes out. “And anything that gets too damaged the others give to me.” Asuka grumpily looked over.

“Very well then, but I don't want to see the stitching.” She said, holding out a robe that had a small hole in the hem. I was about to warn her, but Pah had already shoved the whole thing into her mouth. It was kind of worth it to hear Asuka screaming though.

I couldn't help feeling restless, we were days away from where almost everyone had gathered, and we had been trailing these last two around in circles for several hours. It was like they were both insane or something.

“Lookit, they're obviously crazy, just let me run after them. I'll catch 'em in a half hour tops.” I heard Thorium saying.

“You can't throw them in a cage.” Raven replied sharply.

“What about me?”

“No setting them on fire either.” I sighed and sat up. “Why don't we split up, and try and circle around them.” I said finally. “Just send Pah and Thorium in different directions.” As we broke camp and prepared to enact our plan I heard whispering coming from nearby.

Looking around I spotted a familiar face ducking behind a bush.

“Moot!” I yelled, stomping my way over to the bushes. Hiding behind them were two people I recognized, despite the change in hair color. The shorter one was Moot, he had been a close friend of mine for a long time. He usually had a very regal way about him, it was rare to see him goofing off, but we all knew it was there. His hair had gone from a deep brown to a pitch black, at some point. Looking at him, he seemed to have let go entirely of any pretense and was having a blast.

Next to him was Zephos. He now had silver hair, but the jocular look on his face hadn't changed. He had always been a little screwy, so I wasn't surprised to see him giggling like an idiot. I gripped both of them by the scruff and dragged them out.

“I guess we didn't need to split after all.” Vyrse mentioned, seeing the two oddballs brought out into the open.

“Hey Neko.”

“Hi.”

“God, we were worried sick about you. Right Thorium?” Thorium gave a disheartened look over at the two, before shrugging and walking off. I rolled my eyes and helped the two up. “What happened to you two?”

“Not sure.” Moot said coyly, before bouncing up into a tree.

“Yeah we just sorta ran into each other.” Zephos said, picking at a leaf he had gotten from somewhere.

“I take it you both went through some sort of ritual?” I asked.

“Yeah, sure weird stuff.” Moot said, tossing a branch off the tree. Pah promptly caught and ate it.

“Who's this?” Zephos asked, watching Pah.

“She's Pahhur, back here is Asuka, Raven, Vyrse, and Syndil.” I said, pointing out each one.

“Quite a group.”

“It's going to get bigger, we're heading to where the people are gathering.” Moot seemed to consider this.

“Sounds good to me. I've been enjoying my new powers, but I think it's time I tested them on some actual people.” His body seemed to fade through the tree branch he was leaning on.

“Good, I guess. Come on Pah, we're heading out.” I said, walking past Zephos who was tossing branches at Pah and watching her eat them.

Fan Fiction Chapter Series. Shadow Chapter 9

I ground to a halt, I was back in the woods, the climate was warmer too. What was more, just ahead was a mountain plated in diamond. I hefted the unconscious man up a bit and walked up to it. There was no way this was a natural structure. I made a very precise warp and found myself inside a long tunnel. There were a couple of people around, who just stared at me. One ran off quickly and the other moved towards me.

“Kuonji, Ukyo.” She said, holding her hand out. He was tall for a human female, her hair fell to about her waist and she was wearing a short cut blue robe. Most notably though was the enormous spatula strapped to her backside. “Let me help you with that.” She said, hefting the unconscious man onto her shoulders. “The first aid stations are this way.” A little baffled, I followed her.

“Vegeta!?” One of women helping out was quite audible when we arrived. She had short blue hair, and was wearing a lab coat. “What happened to him?” She looked from Ukyo down to me. “It was you wasn't it?”

“Bulma please.”

“You little furballs are all over the place.”

“Bulma he was carrying Vegeta in when I found him.” She shot me a nasty look, then turned away quietly. I could feel a bad atmosphere filling the room and backed out.

“So you finally made it?” I heard a familiar cocky voice. Behind me was what I always considered to be nature's irony. Sonic the Hedgehog. I had been built to use the Chaos Emerald's power, he was born to; and it always bothered me. Then again he always bothered me regardless.

“I was busy.”

“You always are. What'd you find out?”

“Eggman's alive, and holding some sort of sway over this whole ordeal.”

“I didn't think Eggman had the tools to do something like this.” I heard a smaller voice pipe up from behind Sonic. His constant companion, a yellow furred fox with two tails named oddly enough Tails.

“I don't think he did. It sounded like he was working for someone else. But I think he knows we're alive now and has a new batch of bots for us.”

“For the best then, I'm getting tired of cutting through hollow steel.” Sonic said. “Which reminds me, I'm on the next scouting group. See you.”

“Let's go get you a room then.” Tails said, grabbing me by the arm.

“I'd rather not stay.” I took my arm back.

“It's a war zone out there, no one is allowed to leave unless its to scout for food and survivors. We have a lot of innocent people here and we need all the strength we can get.” I sighed, he had hit my one major weak spot. I had promised Maria I would protect this place.

“Fine, then I would talk to your technical crew, I found some information they might find interesting.” I pulled out a small memory drive I had found in that first console. Tails grabbed at it.

“I'll take it to them, some of them are none to happy with... well us Mobians at least.”

Fan Fiction Chapter Series. Akane Chapter 6

No one else arrived on my shift, but apparently a few people meandered in while I was asleep; including a man with short dark hair who flew in with five unconscious people. He said his name was Yamcha, and he stayed on to help with the defenses. A quiet red furred creature who said his name was Knuckles the Echinda. With him was a green gemstone that he ended up expanding and placing in a chamber deep below. Another young man with short curly orange hair showed up. Having seen him, his face looks like someone chiseled it out of stone, he said his name was Kuwabara. A young woman also arrived, she had long black hair and carried around a boomerang as large her body, she said her name was Sango. Finally I had woken up to find another man leaning on the edge of the overlook. One of his eyes was covered by a headband, and his stark white hair stuck out to one side. He never looked up at me though, and even after he told me his name was Kakashi he simply leaned there, reading what looked like an ero book.

After meeting up with the new people and eating I went back up to stand watch again. It was quiet up there, Kakashi was still leaning along the opposite side; but I was starting to feel upset. In a day the base had filled up with so many strong people, I felt outclassed and useless. Worse there were even stronger people who had just turned around and headed back out. Two of which had returned in the night with even more unconscious people.

There was a noise below, gunfire. I saw one of the Armors fly out of the woods and shatter into pieces against the mountain. A woman bolted out into the clearing, two Armors following close to either side. In a single move she kicked both of them far out of sight, he dark skin glistening in the early sun. Without almost a second thought she stopped at the foot and bounded straight up like most everyone else. As she reached the top I found myself wondering why we even felt safe putting the overlook at this height, when obviously no one seems to care about gravity.

“Hey.” She said; snapping me out of my thoughts. “Kurosaki's here right?”

“Who?”

“Kid with short orange hair? Usually wears a black robe?”

“Oh, Ichigo. Yeah he's here.” She paused for a moment, sizing me up. “You look pretty tough.” She said, I couldn't tell if she was belittling me or not.

“I'm a martial artist of the Tendo School of Anything Goes Martial Arts.” I said proudly, deciding not to just give up and be steamrolled. “Of course I'm tough.” She eyed me with surprise. Then laughed.

“I like you kid, name's Yoruichi Shihoin.” She said, extending her hand.

“Tendo Akane.” I said taking it.

“Why don't you show me around?” I nodded and nudged Ryoga who was sleeping, telling him to keep watch.

Dimensional Warriors: Tech's Journal Entry 1

Planet: Earth composite.
Day: 3 days since planet was created.

Today dawns a new day. My teacher died, passing his power on to me. His powers and his records. Records that are depressingly bare. Before he died, he told me, my power relies on discovery. I guess he was afraid I would run out of things to find out.

Today's task is to run through what was left in the records. Following are my notations:

Avarus; God of Selfishness. Only one of the 23 gods to be able to absorb another element; as recorded during the first generation when he took the God of Immortality's gifts. He now is also the God of Immortality.

Other notable information:
He has access to elemental energy of all 23 elements. Last recorded to at least be on par with the power of the God responsible for said energy.

Note: That level of energy must be tough to maintain. Perhaps a weakness in strength.
He employs several tools; most notably is his chain of command.

Solarus: Souls of the dead attached to metal scraps and bent to do his bidding. When the metal is damaged enough the soul leaves and is soon reborn as a new Solarus; granting them their other name. The Endless Army.

Solarus also posses the odd ability to consume a sentient being, resulting in one of several transformations:

Commanders: A Solarus that consumed a weak-willed being will evolve, gaining a small amount of power, and some will of its own. These are a little stronger than regular Solarus, but tend to not be a huge problem.

Generals: Solarus that fuse with a strong-willed being will become a General. These creatures are beings of amazing power, capable of free-will, intelligent thought, and high energy usage. Avoid at all costs.

Beast: A Commander that tries to consume another sentient will always become a Beast. Beasts range in power from slightly stronger than a Solarus, to theoretically stronger than Generals. However this is mitigated by the fact that they never have mental capabilities beyond those of an animal.

Sub-types:
Sniper: Solarus given tools to attack at extreme distances.
Guard: large pieces of armor removed, making these much hard to hit. They also have preference to blades rather than guns.
Elementals: Solarus imbued with the powers of an element. Most of the time they may know only a single spell, but on occasion stronger ones have been noted.

Above the Generals are the Shadows.

Shadows are polarized opposites of beings in this world. How Avarus creates or finds these is still unknown, but every time they have been faced in combat the God is forced to retreat. Avoid at All Costs.

The only known Legendary Weapon in Avarus' possession is his blade. The tool has the power to take anything its owner wants. It was the first Selfish Weapon made, and has never left his grip. It is theorized that this blade is why he is able to absorb and use elements that are not his own.

Dimensional Barriers: Avarus' home dimension is protected by a strong barrier; locking it from the universal flow. We have a similar shield, the only thing that can break through is an opposite power.

After that there is just a list of battles, outcomes, what was used. Nothing too important at the moment. Might go into them another time.

Story Bonus! Vyrse and Raven, Travelling Across Time Part 1

Vyrse sighed as he leaned back, his black jacket crumpling in the smooth chair, and his long black hair falling into his pale face. A cold gaze came through those half open eyes, a knowing, penetrating look. His mind was slowly fading into sleep as he leaned back in his cushioned chair. A low crackling noise was slowly pumping into the room, steady and constant. Vyrse ignored it; the noise had filled his ears for too long to allow him to even acknowledge its presence. As he fell into sleep he patted his breast pocket, feeling the still thick wad of bills there, he never took anything but cold cash.

The slow noise came from the room next to his; whenever someone asked him what it was he usually came up with some excuse similar to "it's just a bit of static" or "it's my plumbing hitting the electric wires." This was followed by an insistence that he'd have it fixed soon. This usually rid himself of the people that lived next to his apartment. It was a fairly dreary place, not often fixed, but it allowed him to be as discreet as possible. This was good, for it suited his job, which was usually very... unpleasant. The reason for his digression was an oddity, a portal between worlds. He knew they would sometimes appear outside, and sometimes people from his world slipped out, and others slipped in, however his was the only one that was consistent and always open. It led to one of two connected worlds. This one was an ancient world, filled with old knights, chivalry, and kings. He was often employed to remove said people from power in the other world. He felt fortunate that his portal didn't lead to the third world, where beasts of immeasurable size roamed the world, their hides too thick for bullets.

He finally nodded off completely when his small black phone rang. He snatched it up and took down notes with a swift, nimble hand. Vyrse hung up five minutes later and looked down at his notes. “Another day, another job, another easy buck.” He said as he strapped a black belt around his waist, feeling the sleek black guns bounce against his thighs.
Vyrse took in a deep breath of the smoke-less air. “Middle Ages do smell quite nice.” He thought, as he began to walk into an open field.

"Vyrse has come!"

"Stop him!" Men, dozens of them began to swarm across the field at Vyrse. He sighed, tightening his grip on the wooded handles of his guns. In a blur he lifted them, his trained fingers pulling the triggers and reloading with only milliseconds between each shot. His belt, heavily laden with ammunition began to twist as he grabbed new packets of bullets and twirled the compartments of his belt faster than those of his guns. The men's numbers diminished rapidly, falling to bullets that pierced their heads, hearts, or lungs. The remainder managed to close the gap between themselves and the gunman, feeling his power was lessened at close range. Vyrse smiled as he let his legs fall under him, a lance swipe barely missing his head. Seconds later the man's blood hit his face, then the next, and another fell, the deafening gunshots seemed to become one roaring sound, rumbling into eternity. Finally the five remaining men dropped their weapons and ran. Vyrse smiled and sheathed his guns.

"Fools, always making it so much more entertaining." He smirked and followed the retreating men to their castle.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he ran, hitting the wall, but not stopping. His feet hit the wall, yet kept going, straight up, until they only touched air. He flipped and sprung off the top of the wall to reach the tallest tower.

Comments:

I actually wrote this story a while ago, it was supposed to be the back story for Vyrse and Raven, and it kind of is now. I just have to edit it a bit, especially the last few chapters.

Dimensional Warriors: Metudo's Story Chapter 12

“How could you lie? Why?” Dispair, anguish, fear. It was choking me, this emotion. “Herm. Why didn't you tell me you were still alive?” I looked up, my vision blurry. I saw a young woman, a beautiful face; floating there. She was so sad.

“I didn't want to hurt you.” She said; her long red hair clinging to the side of her face. My body moved, and slapped her. I woke up.

My room was dark, just a light phosphorescence in the corner. I felt cold sweat running down my back. The vision had been intense. My powers were growing exponentially.

A few days had passed since we arrived at the mountain. The tunnels had been completed, and in just a few days our numbers had swelled by the hundreds. Using my powerful mind, I had often coordinated teams to head out and find survivors and bring them back. We have had very few casualties so far, especially since Tech has managed to put together some basic rifles. Food has also ceased to be a problem, Lark's trees were incredibly fertile, and have produced plenty of food.

I thought back on my vision. That was Antigon. My eldest cousin. The only remaining Herm out there. He sounded ashamed of his new body; this wasn't good. This vision had felt very close to one of my earlier ones; I was sure that Herm and her companions would be bringing us tools to fight back. It would be dangerous for all of us, if she isn't comfortable with herself.

That's when a plan began to form in my mind. I got up to go talk with Odin.

The diamond exterior had been a recent change. Odin had done it only a day or two before we had arrived. Personally I would have preferred a tougher exterior, like titanium; but Odin couldn't work with metals and had to focus on natural stones. Not even Tech could do anything there, since he had a general lack of resources. But I had a few ideas now that I wanted to bring into action.

“So, you want me to remove the lookout platform?” Odin was watching me carefully.

“Yes, if we're bring people in through the tunnels all the platform becomes is an opening. Meanwhile I can feel the presence of people and to some degree Solarus, so I know when someone gets close enough to grab.” He seemed to be considering.

“I also want you to work with Tech, find a strong substance, or make one, that will let the sun in but protect the sun room from outside attack.”

“That might be difficult.”

“We also should reconstruct the outer layer of diamond so that it is structured for maximum toughness. You might want Tech's help with that too.”

“Sounds like you want the impossible...”

“No, I just want to make sure we're safe here. I know you can do it, I'm going to get to work getting my own shields up. I want us able to withstand a nuke and not even feel it.” With that I headed down the corridor, leaving Odin speechless.

Comments:

Firstly I want to say I am almost finished writing up every chapter for the winter break. Meaning I'll be focusing on the compiled pieces next.

Next I would like to talk about an oddity among the web comics I read.

Misfile is a strange creature for me. I got brought in due to the gender bender issues of the main character, but a lot of the central storyline revolves around things that would normally cause me to write it off. The story focuses around a guy who has become a girl, probably permanently, and another girl who has lost two years of her life (meaning she's two years younger.) This occurs due to a misfile in heaven just before the guy responsible gets kicked out. So he is the only one who knows and cannot go back up to fix it. This is where things get odd for me; I'm a Pagan, and as such I usually find most Christian related subjects to be preachy and anger inducing. This one isn't. It treats Christianity like any other mythology and even touches in on some homosexuality. I approve this mainly because whoever is writing it is promoting the idea that Christians are not all bible beaters; which I think is important for those of us who are non-Christians to realize.

Anyway I highly recommend this web-comic and I'm gonna quiet up on this before I shove my foot in my mouth as I am apt to do. Enjoy!

The Tower of Shifting Tides: Ted Selden

 The Tower of Shifting Tides
 Digital Media
Ted Selden's Comments:

I really don’t know what fever dream inspired this one. After making it I felt a need to fill in the narrative blanks. All I have are impressions of the story behind this person and place. I think he was a high ranking member of whatever group he was a affiliated with. At this moment in his existence, he has just learned something that contradicts his beliefs, and this has emotionally damaging him.  The high angle of the camera indicates that he is humbled. His eyes see something above him: probably the evidence that disproves his faith. He exists during a time that is about undergo great changes. The world as he knows it is about to be replaced. And the order he knows is about  to be meaningless.
Comments are welcome.

Fan Fiction Bonus! Ichigo Kurosaki vs. Roronoa Zoro

I eyed down my new opponent. His left eye was gone, I could keep to that side easily. However the way he held his sword, he was a true master. I will be killed if I take him lightly. I gripped my badge, hoping some of the Fullbring would work. Even in it's final form, it wasn't very useful; however it was the only chance I had at regaining my powers.

He motioned for me to attack. Taking my cue I tried to cut through his stance with speed. A second later the world was spinning, and I felt my back land heavily against the wall. It wasn't until a pushed myself up that I felt the cut, so fine, running in a perfect cross from my left shoulder to my right hip.

How, it had been his left eye, but this was so accurate. I was lucky it wasn't very deep; I heard rather than felt my blood land on the floor. My head was getting fuzzy, this was just what I needed. One more charge.

As I faced down death, I saw the arc of his sword, and reacted. Holding my badge out to stop the blow. Immediately I felt a warm sensation run down my arm. His blade had gone straight through the badge, and through my hand. I felt the badge fall into two pieces, heard them land separately on the floor. He slid the blade out, and swung again. I felt another slice run across me, right to left. I felt to the floor bleeding heavily.

“Ichigo.” I heard a voice, so familiar.

“Zangestu?” I was inside myself. The familiar world, filled with skyscrapers, whose shimmering surface was the one we walked on. Before me was a familiar face, rugged, and cloaked in black.

“Yes, I see you wish to talk with me?”

“Why can't I draw you out?” He seemed to consider for a minute.

“Ichigo, as a piece of your soul, I can only manifest when there is no conflict within your body. When you are in your soul form, there is no conflict, so I may manifest. Think, how did Ginjo manifest his Zanpakuto while retaining his human form?”

“I thought it was through Fullbring.”

“That was one method, but it is impossible if the soul and body reject each other. Even when you activated your Fullbring you didn't bring out my power.”

“So why doesn't the badge work?”

“This world.”

“What?”

“This world has different rules. The other Shinigami are going to have the same troubles, this world does not allow a soul to be separate from a body.”

“So I have to bring my body and soul together?”

“Yes. However only you know the conflict of your heart.” I thought for a while, I had no idea how time passed while I was here, but I assumed Zoro wasn't going to just kill me, Rukia was probably even patching me up. Such a weak body. I felt my power lessen just thinking about it.

“Wait.” Zangetsu was smiling down at me. “That's it isn't it. I look down on my human body because I think it's weak.”

“That would be enough, at least for now.”

“But...”

“It's impressive that you held up. Even holding back, that swordsman has a tremendous amount of power. Possibly more than you. Yet your body took those blows, and is still well enough to fight.” I felt something click in my mind, power was surging through my veins. I felt my consciousness flowing back to my body.

My eyes flickered open, Rukia jumped backwards, cutting off the roll of surgical tape. Power was flowing out of me. Zoro watched me carefully as I held my hand out, instinctively.

“Piasu ten Zangetsu!” The words just came to me, and as I said them I felt a familiar weight take form in my hand. My blade, to an outsider it would look like a sheer hunk of metal, there was no protective hilt, just a cloth wrapping around the thin part of the sword. The blade was almost as long as I was tall, and the cutting edge had a sterling silver glimmer. I stood tall, my energy sealing my wounds. Rukia backed even further away. Zoro just grinned at me.

“I'm ready for the next round.” I called out to him. Rukia looked like she wanted to stop me, but didn't. Zoro just kept the same look on his face and drew two blades. This time he attacked. I saw him coming though and stopped both blades. Despite that he still began pushing me back, his power was enormous.

I found footing and pushed back, breaking the lock and grazing his cheek. He looked like he was about to laugh.

“I think we should get a serious workout. I'm interested to see what you can do.” He had sheathed his blades again, but was still guarded. I watched as he reached into a pocket, drawing out an old weathered green cloth. He gently, calmly tied it over his head, just above his eyes. Then with the same grace he took out one of his blades, pure white like snow; and gripped in in his mouth before drawing his other two swords. He was ready, and the pressure he was giving off was enormous. I knew it was my turn; I was curious as to how far I could push myself. So I held my blade out again.

“Bankai.” I said, calling out the depths of power from within. It enveloped me, around my shoulders a tattered black cloak fell. My blade's form changed, becoming a pure black. This one had a hilt, and was roughly the proper length for a katana. Rukia had pretty much left the room at this point. We hesitated for a moment, before moving as one.

He moved at an incalculable speed. Even with my own speed enhanced, it was all I could manage to block and dodge his rapid and deadly attacks. Finally I felt our blades lock, and almost immediately he used the pressure to bounce backwards. Immediately he began spinning his blades rapidly.

“Kokujo... O Tatsumaki!” I heard him call his attack, but was more concerned with the enormous whirlwind that had been formed. I could tell the winds would slice through just about anything they collided with, so I prepared my own move, feeling power rush into my blade.

“Getsuga Tensho!” I launched the energy in mass at the center of the whirlwind. The two powers exploded into each other, shaking the room before dispersing. Zoro was smiling, two of his blades were held straight behind his back. On instinct I placed my hand to my face, gathering more energy.

“Rengoku Oni Giri!” His next strike was blindingly fast, and left a cross-shaped scar in the diamond wall behind me. Fortunately, my hollow mask had worked perfectly, and I had crossed the room. Despite that a chunk of the mask fell off as the dust settled. I saw where I had managed to graze his robe. There was a little blood seeping out of the cut. He turned and sheathed his blades. I pulled off my mask, and lowered my sword.

“You're a strong opponent, stronger than the man who taught me.” He gave me a slight bow. “I'd enjoy sparring with you again, when you can use all of your power.” He left, I realized if he hadn't held back I probably would have lost my head. Still it was interesting that my body could even handle activating my hollow mask. I let my sword revert and was surprised when it returned to it's very first form. A plain buster sword, which was taller than I was. I also quickly realized I was still in my tee and jeans, the black cloak had faded with my Bankai; so I used an old trick with my energy to hook the blade to my back before heading out to find Rukia to tell her what I had learned.

Comments:

The first of the bonus chapters, usually taking from a characters point of view during a climatic scene or changing event. Either that or really cool fights, and if I run out of things to do backstory if always good.

Dimensional Warriors: Neko's Story Chapter 11

“What the hell!? The only person who is supposed to be able to pick that up is from the Selfless Lineage.” The girl was now yelling at the top of her lungs. I however had been distracted by a tremor that seemed to have run up the mountain.

“You feel that right?” As if to confirm my fears Syndil had crouched next to me.

“I think the Armors below are trying to cut through.” I whispered back, the girl was still screaming her head off at Pah who was backing away slowly. Another tremor shook the entire place.

“The mountain's coming down!” I called out, hoping it would shock her enough to make her stop. It didn't immediately, but on the next tremor her mouth hung open as if she lost her words on the spot.

“Shit.” She cried out, bolting into the back of the room and grabbing objects furiously. “We'll finish this later, right now carry that thing down and let's get the hell out of here.” Pahhur had recovered her spine and was tying the second sword to her loose belt.

“Alright, you two, hop on.”

“What?” She turned around and motioned with her hands.

“I'm gonna carry you down.”

“Pah, you're not planning on jumping are you?” Syndil stated the obvious.

“Y-No...” She wasn't looking at us, but had a shit-eating grin slapped across her face.

“I swear to god Pah, if you just jump down with us the penalties will be egregious.” I said, lifting myself onto her back. Syndil held on to the other shoulder, and the other girl ran up behind us.

“Let's get out of here!” She yelled, jumping straight off. It wasn't until we were free-falling that we realized Pah had followed.

We fell for quite a while, the ground wasn't even clearly visible at first.

“Hold on tight, I'm going to try something.” Pah said calmly. I felt her hand move out from under me. She held both arms out below us, and fire started to burst forward. Our decent was being slowed. However I had lost sight of the girl a while ago, I couldn't tell if we had passed her, or if she had just kept going at full speed. This was of course remedied when a few feet from the ground I felt her collide with my back, sending Pah sprawling face first into the dirt.

“My name is Asuka.” She said, after we had gotten clear of the mountain and regrouped. Syndil was applying some first aid to the scratches on Pah's face, but it wasn't too necessary; none of them were really bleeding.

“I am the new Goddess of Light.” She continued. “I was tasked to protect that blade until it's owner, Donare came to retrieve it. I guess it sensed the dire situation and allowed Pahhur to carry it for now. In that case, it should be alright if she holds onto it until it can be delivered.”

“Well, mark one more person saved.” Thorium said happily poking at the Atlas. “Only two left, and they're traveling together.”

Well I'm a good week ahead, and what a week. Look forward to a third compiled chapter of Akane's story going up on FF.net soon, as well as two compiled Shadow chapters in the same location. Also, big goal is getting a full book 1 of Metudo's story published on Amazon, bound together with some pages from Tech's personal journal.

The holiday season is upon us!

Fan Fiction Chapter Series. Shadow Chapter 8

“I am grateful” He said turning around to see his two guards, “that your master has seen fit to put me in charge here. However, because of that I am very busy. Why did you bring me here?” They held out two objects, one I didn't recognize, but the other was a Chaos Emerald.

“These came into our possession.”

“Oho! A Chaos Emerald, now this is a perfect use of my time.” He moved to pick up the emerald, but was halted. Both the orb and the Emerald were vibrating on their own, and drawing closer to each other; before long they flew out of the hands holding them, and collided.

As soon as the two objects came together, a bright light enveloped the room. I felt raw power burst from the unison. When it subsided the orb was gone, and the Emerald was larger, looking like a crystal. Inside I could just see three off-colored stars. The power it was emitting was so different than a normal Chaos Emerald. I estimated it was radiating the same force as all seven combined; yet even then it was different. Like it was free. Normally the Emeralds only respond to certain machines or people, like me or Sonic. This felt unbound, like anyone could pick it up and use it. I was taken out of my thoughts by Eggman's laughter.

“This is incredible. Go get the other seven, these Crystals will definitely wake up my greatest creation!” He held the crystal carefully, as if touching it burned him. The Armors left and I made my move.

In a flash I had grabbed the Crystal, raw power waiting to be accepted.

“Shadow! How can you still be alive!”

“You're lucky for now Eggman, I'll just be taking this; see you.” I gripped the glowing stone and allowed the energy to flow into me. I felt my fur stand on end. “Chaos Control!” In a second I was outside the city limits. But Eggman's voice blasted out of the speakers.

“Find him! Get me those Chaos Crystals! Release the Eggbots! Release the Demons! Release the Beasts!” I was about to warp again when a prone form landed a few feet away. He was short by human standards, though his black hair tried to make up for that. He was extremely muscular, and was wearing a blue wife beater and matching sweats. All of which was torn in several places. He coughed suddenly, sending a little spurt of blood up. He pulled himself up, looking around rapidly. His eyes looked over me.

“Super... Saiyan?” Then he managed to focus. “No... What are you?” He began getting up, but blood was pouring out of his backside. I moved to help him, but a black creature landed nearby. It had the same armor type as the Solarus, but this one was sleek. It's face glowed with an eerie red light.

“Still alive?” It spoke, confident, calm. “I guess you weren't an absolute waste of flesh then. Shame, I would have rather liked to see what kind of General you would make. But I guess all that is left is to kill you.” Energy began building up along its finger. I didn't wait any longer, and grabbed the man's arm; warping the both of us a few feet away.

Or at least I thought I had, the Armored man was no further away than he had been. I took off on foot, he lifted himself into the air, and kept pace with me.

“We, have to get out of here. He's strong. Too strong.” The man I was carrying finally began speaking.

“Right, hold on.” Anything that could keep up with me in my Super form was to be feared; especially when it looked so calm doing it. “Chaos Control!” I tried to move as far away as I could, place myself on the opposite side of the planet.

Fan Fiction Chapter Series. Akane Chapter 5

“You don't have your Zanpakuto?” Ichigo said, I looked from one to the other, they seemed to both have very heavy faces.

“Can someone explain this to me?” I finally asked; causing Rukia to look around Ichigo and see me.

“She can see me?” She asked. Ichigo seemed equally confused; but eventually sighed and sat down. I followed suit.

“Alright, I guess I should start from the beginning. Rukia is what is called a Shinigami, or Soul Reaper. Her job is to go around destroying creatures called Hollows and passing dead souls on to the next world. Somewhere along the lines I was granted the same power, but in order to use it I basically had to separate my soul from my body.”

“Right” Rukia cut in. “And thus why I'm confused, my Zanpakuto, my sword, is a piece of my soul. It should never be separated from the rest of me.”

“Are we going to do this training or not? 'Cause I could use a nap.” Zoro called in from the doorway.

“Training?”

“Yeah, I think I might be able to reawaken my powers by facing death. You know, not unlike the last three times it worked.” Rukia sighed.

“Maybe I should watch, we might find out why my Zanpakuto vanished.” The three of them headed down into the training chambers, I decided so long as someone was watching I didn't necessarily need to be there and headed up to the observation deck.

Night had fully fallen, Ryoga was snoring from a hunched position. I found a blanket and wrapped it around him before looking back out into the darkness. I hoped for his sake that Akari was still alive.

I heard something, and began circling around. In the distance I saw some trees shiver and fall. There was a whirlwind approaching us. I shook Odin awake and pointed out to it. After a while we could see there was a person in front of it. But it was too dark out to see them too well.

A few minutes later though we were able to tell the whirlwind wasn't chasing the person, it was being created by the person. As they reached the base of the mountain the form stopped dead and began leaping up the rock face. As it approached I could make out a somewhat thin frame and tanned skin before it stopped dead in front of me.

“Kagome?” The young man asked, his nose twitching rapidly. “No, you don't smell like her.” His long pointed ears twitched a couple of times, at this distance I could see the tips of his canine teeth poking out from under his lip. As well his hands and feet were both topped with long curved nails. One hand even had a gauntlet on it, with golden claws extending over his hand. He wasn't wearing much in the ways of clothing, but his torso and important bits were covered what looked like fur armor. He had similar braces on his legs and arms.

“Sorry I wasn't who you were looking for.” I started carefully. “But if you'll...” I hesitated and saw he had a bag on his back. “What's in there?”

“Oh, a couple of layabouts I found on my way here. I thought I had smelled Kagome, guess I was wrong.” He opened the pack and gently laid out a couple of sleeping people. They also had pointed ears and fangs. Next to them he laid out a pack of what seemed to be food. “Can you look after these guys? I'm gonna go look for Kagome or Ayame some more.”

“If you wait here, most likely they'll be heading this way.” Odin said. The young man paused, considering.

“I'd really rather keep moving. I'm kind of worried; but if I find some more people I'll be sure to drop them by here. Thanks!” He yelled, leaping off the side.

“Thank you for the Food!” I called after him. Inside the final pack had been several pounds of dried and salted meats. We were suddenly much better off that before.

Dimensional Warriors: Metudo's Story Chapter 11

Next

BOOM! An explosion made the earthen walls shiver. I looked at Odin for a second, before running off to find the cause. We had just finished getting Lark and Anatos set up so that in a day or two we'll have enough fruit to feed this colony, we were discussing what to do going forward, when the explosion interrupted us.

It didn't take long for us to locate the source either, we just followed the smoke and found Tech. His face was soot covered, but he was still putting chemicals and equipment together.

“Ah, I thought that would get you two here.” He said, spotting us as he turned. “I need a larger room than this. It will do for a bedroom, but I need something perhaps closer to the underground stream for my work room.” As he talked he dumped a couple of chemicals in a flask, which began bubbling violently.

“I would just as soon keep you away from our water supply.” I said. He pouted.

“But I need an energy source for most of my inventions; and I can't seem to find Leukos.” I looked over at Odin; who sighed.

“Alright, we'll get our water from Anatos.”

“But, on one condition.” I said quickly. “You have to make stuff that will help us stop the Solarus first. No distractions. When they are cleaned up, we'll relocate you to a nice volcano or something.”

“Fair enough, could I get Odin's help then. I need raw materials to make weapons. Which should be the first thing we do, the people here are terribly under-armed, and a small group of us are not going to suffice.” Odin nodded in agreement and set out to prepare the room. I sighed and moved on to find my own room.

It was plain, not much more than a hole in the wall, and some sand for a bed. I put my sleeping bag down after pushing the sand aside, and began to think. Now we were safe, or at least more safe; but what we needed was a way past the Solarus now standing guard around us.

I thought until morning, and talked to Odin about it.

“Maybe we can build tunnels out of here.” He suggested. “I can make it so the entrance is impossible to open from the outside.”

“We'd need lookouts, in case other survivors make it here.”

“I'll see what I can do. In the meantime, you and Tech should get to work on a counter-offensive. We can't sit in here like canned sardines for the rest of our lives.”

“We may have to.” I said quietly. “Their numbers are absurd, even now we've likely only seen a fraction of their forces.” As I spoke I reached out with my mind, trying to locate their source; but even at my limit I could only see the usual small groups; but I was surprised to notice how many survivors were still out there. “We need to fortify ourselves here, at least until the last survivors make it. We also need to grow the garden some more.” Odin gave me a confused look. “There's still roughly a few hundred thousand people out there. That might not last if we wait though. Get to work on those tunnels.” I said, getting up and moving on. “I'm going to go find Leukos and Jato.”

The important question is how are they going to find room for all of those people.

Yes, this is a big turning point for Metudo, he is steadily gaining control of a colony now; and has to start making the hard decisions.

This week I'd like to talk about another World of Warcraft based comic, even though it is hard to tell that. Looking for Group.

Initially it was just about this undead warlock who is incredibly funny and who entertains himself by making fun of a Blood Elf. Fast Forward to current day, the Blood Elf is leading a massive war against oppressive forces, and the warlock still is the center of attention.

Technically it is a World of Warcraft comic, but after the first few pages it diverges so much from the game that it kind of is its own thing now. Particularly when you look at the spells and abilities the main characters use, for a lot of them there is no coherent link to WoW.

Also things to look out for, Ted is going to be putting up his first video piece soon, so look for it. This will be more of a test to see how embedding video works and what we have to do; so bare with us.

Stop SOPA

http://boingboing.net/2011/12/14/kill-sopa-save-americas-int.html

Seriously everyone, this bill is being voted on tomorrow, and the media has done jack shit to tell anyone the facts. This bill can and will destroy everything we hold dear about the internet. The provisions forcing companies like Google, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and many more to be responsible for everything their customers post will bankrupt said companies. No person in the world could afford to do that much scrubbing so quickly. Let us not forget that "copyrighted material" or "Bad links" includes every clip, music bite, and piece of text that is owned by the entertainment industry.

Now with that done, I actually have some other news. With winter break approaching, I'm planning on a few things.

1) A published compilation of Metudo's chapters going up until his team reaches the mountain base. But since that is fairly short, I am packaging it with a series of bonus journal entries from Tech's journal, filled with information on the science behind the powers. I'll be selling the package for 1$ on Amazon/Kindle.

I am looking for between 1 and 3 editors for this project, and I am willing to pay 10% of the take to each editor that helps.

2) Since I'll have extra time during break I will be releasing daily chapters! So starting December 19th and lasting until January 19th the new update schedule will be as follows:

Monday: Shadow (Fan Fiction)
Tuesday: Neko (Main)
Wednesday: Bonus! (Fan Fiction)
Thursday: Metudo (Main)
Friday: Bonus! (Main)
Saturday: Tech Journal
Sunday: Akane (Fan Fiction)

Bonus! chapters are going to be scenes from any character's perspective that I feel like, to fill in any story holes I feel are missing.

Enjoy the holidays! And Stop SOPA!

Dimensional Warriors: Neko's Story Chapter 10

“Okay, I can understand you, but why do I have to come along?” I was hanging lamely from a rope while Pah climbed. Over the last few days we had managed to make great progress thanks to the carts and other things Thorium began making, but when we got the base of the mountain it was decided only a few of us should go up. The rest should stay below and keep an exit available.

“Because, they decided it would be safer if the non-fighters came with me.” Pah retorted down. True enough Syndil was tied a little below me. At first, we had all been climbing, In fact, both myself and Syndil were doing better than Pah. But once the mountain shifted from a vertical climb to a horizontal overhang, Pah was the only one with tools. Now, the two of us were hanging uselessly.

Despite the extra weight, Pah didn't end up having too much trouble lifting us the rest of the way up. Below us we could see our friends fighting off the Armors. I felt the rope give a little and grabbed onto the edge instinctively.

“Intruders!” I heard a woman yell, I lifted my head to see what was going on. A dark skinned woman in a flowing white robe was standing at the top, in her hand was what looked like a bow, but I couldn't see any solid material. Almost like it was made of energy. Pah had just barely tied the rope to a tree when she attacked. I quickly hefted myself and Syndil up. The woman seemed hesitant to fire again.

“We're not with the Armors.” A burst of energy passed close to Pah's face as she spoke.

“Obviously not, the barrier wouldn't have let you in. I want to know why came here.” She held the weapon tightly.

“We're just here to get you to safety.” I said calmly.

“I am safe here.”

“I don't know how safe you'll be once they finish shooting through the base of the mountain.” Syndil said, looking deftly over the cliff's edge. The woman lowered her weapon a bit, I noticed her eyes flicker and followed them. I had assumed behind her was a cave of some sort, but after noticing her reaction I spotted paved stone just inside. I moved a bit closer, and saw some statues built into the walls.

“Obviously you're not that safe here, why don't you just come with us.” Pahhur said, apparently regaining her determination. The woman lowered her weapon.

“It's not that simple. I cannot leave here.”

“Why not?” She sighed and motioned us to follow. “I am the new Goddess of Light. I-I must fulfill my teachers wishes. I have to guard this shrine, no matter what.”

“Wait, but if you die, won't that also be bad?” She looked back at Pah.

“Yes, light, color, would vanish from the world. But this place is as important.”

“Why?”

“Because, of this.” We had entered the central chamber, in the center lay a blade.

“A sword?”

“Yes, this is an ancient weapon, it is the only the wields the power of all. It is the only tool that can negate Avarus' power.”

“Then why don't we just grab it and go?” Pah said, gripping the hilt of the blade.

“NO!” But it was too late, Pahhur had frozen up on the spot. As if she had been petrified. The woman cursed. “The sword has several enchantments on it, the strongest of which prevents any old idiot to pick it up. It's even strong enough to stop Gods. Only Donare was made to wield it.”

“Will Pah be okay?” I was touching her pulse to check.

“Yes, it won't kill a God, but she may be paralyzed for a few days.” She irritatedly moved further back into the cave and came out with something that looked suspiciously like a crowbar. “Help me with this.” She said, motioning to Pah.

“Gyah!” Pah suddenly yelled out, stepping back a bit. “Oh god, that hurt.” She muttered.

“What happened?” Syndil asked, crouching down to help Pahhur up.

“I have no clue, but I touched the sword and a voice started talking in my head. Like it was testing me or something, but I was so cold.” She shivered. There was a dull clank on the ground, the woman had dropped her crowbar; and was staring at Pahhur. Then I saw it too. The blade was now tightly gripped in Pahhur's left hand.

Comments:

Yes, blade of legends. Now Pahhur has two swords, so she can swing twice and wildly. :D

Poor Neko, left out of getting a weapon again.

Anyway, I want to take a moment to say; Finals Blow!
