Ted Selden Art Day

Boots, charcoal on paper.

Ted Selden's Comments:
This one also came from a class. I had done very little still life’s and I don’t think I’ll do too many more in this medium. Looking at this piece now always reminds me of the last song in the “Song From The Woods” album by Jethro Tull. Only because there’s is a line in there about taking off your boot at the end of the day. There is something about a pair of work boot that relaxes me. This is a tool used to perform heavy outdoor labor. When the boot is absent of any foot, and the laces are untied, we see something that withstands so much abuse during the day in a relaxed position.
